Why we must face the potentially difficult truth about ‘hostile aliens’
WE’VE BEEN INVOLVED with the UAP research and activism field since 2017. In all that time the conversation amongst Ufologists and true believers has been controlled through stigma, paranoia and unverifiable conspiracies from within the various socio-subcultures. Almost akin to a town or village, each subculture within the wider Ufology hamlets will generally follow the same subconscious parameters and guidelines with each subsection providing a role for the community. We can even argue that there is a well-defined ‘circle of concept’, formulated from within ‘old guard’ Ufologists who determine what is acceptable to research and talk about - and what is not.
The last few years has shown that there are many concepts and ideologies which are discordantly relegated to the area outside of this hypothetical circle. In particular, there are two main themes which are wholeheartedly rejected throughout the majority of Ufology subcultures – these are that the government are not to be trusted on UAP and that the ‘UFOs’ (alien space brothers) are friendly and benevolent towards humanity. Potentially, we as a species need to question what it means for some (maybe not all) of the anomalous phenomena to be genuinely hostile – beyond disinformation and unfounded conspiracies. If UAP show to be hostile in the long-term, then do we even have a chance against them? Counter arguments against anomalous hostility have always been around the annihilation of Earth, but maybe we need to consider other forms of manipulation, strategy and tactics which might be used against us in secret. After all, the phenomena have never intervened in countless bloodied wars or saved us from diseases, they don’t even show themselves openly to us. They allow us to believe they don’t exist.
Still from the film The Day The Earth Stood Still (1951, Twentieth Century Fox)
We’ve yet to see anything to suggest that the anomalous phenomena will become overtly hostile (annihilation) in the future, but by the same token the vast majority of us are not privy to classified information. In a way, it becomes important to be able to address difficult conversations and be able to change what we believe to be the truth – which is more important than dying to defend a predetermined subjective ideology. This is not an easy thing to do however, accepting an alternative version of what we see as our own truth is determined by multiple factors which are sometimes not even related to the content itself.
I’ve learnt the hard way that attempting to engage the ‘circle of concept’ with extreme and challenging information can be met with pushback and hostility. People are bound by an embodiment of their own personal psychology, with the belief in ‘extra-terrestrials’ high on that list, particularly with regards to who we want them to be. After all, this unknown technology and/or intelligence is frightening. Realistically, the ‘fight or flight’ mechanism continuously sends subconscious warning signals to our conscious minds. Our brain tells us that these things, what or whoever they are, could destroy us and there is nothing to stop that. This is pretty powerful dissonance. It makes us think irrationally and illogically. Arguably, it is why we as a species rejected the UFO existence in the mid-20th century - we simply couldn’t accept that radical concept of reality into our circle.
So, for some who know the existence of something anomalous, it makes sense for us humans to want to apply humanistic perceptions onto them, to believe that they are friendly space-brothers. In reality we simply do not know the intentions of the anomalous phenomena. Are we really ready as a species to have the difficult conversations that UFO ‘gurus’ would denounce as government psychological operations?
Any psychologist would argue that a mass education/awareness program needs to be implemented into the population. Open transparency and UAP truth is needed to allow trust in government on this extremely difficult concept. But is that happening? We would argue no, it isn’t, or at least not on a macro scale that is effective.
The truth is that there are people working with the American government and the British government who are good people, who want to have the anomalous phenomena be made public and in a responsible way but whose hands are tied in tape. Some of these people working behind the scenes know the relevance of having anomalous technology implemented into the civilian world. Consequently, this technology might potentially one day replace fossil fuels. Others know that they need to counteract Russia and China’s efforts to build hypersonic thermonuclear technology which could wipe out the West before we even know the button has been pushed – imagine something like the Tic-Tacs instantaneously appearing over Washington, London and every counter strike weaponry position. We would be helpless. There are many reasons why the secrecy was kept from the public in the Cold War era, and there are many reasons why a small group from within the Department of Defense have instigated the UAP initiative. Analysts deep within the intelligence community assessed a while ago that the change was needed, ‘future proofing’, if you will. The secrecy of UFOs that was once a beneficial aspect of national security is now a threat to national security. Rotten fruit in the fridge becomes worse, not better. Sometimes there needs to be a clear-out, no matter how dirty it gets.
A failure to acknowledge any wrong doing or negligence might save face for the Pentagon in the short term, but long term the people are divided.
But these are difficult conversations to have, particularly with paranoid conspiracy theorists who have a political or anti-military bias and who hate the government. Telling old school ufologists that the inner workings of the Department of Defense have their best interest at heart is complex and somewhat unattainable. We live in a post 9/11 world. A new era of diluted truths. Internet conspiracies around 9/11 ‘inside job’ are rife, the Iraq War of 2003 is still a major problem when trying to engage and regain the trust of the American people. The ‘Deep State’ and the negative perception of the intelligence community keeping secrets from the West is common practice across message boards and forums. Q-anon lunatics hide their true selves whilst misinformation and ‘Fake News’ has become such a normality that no information is ever truly believed. Consider also, that in the early 21st century and the age of an emerging internet, the issue of disinformation was won by Russia a lot sooner than the West even realised it was happening. A failure to acknowledge any wrong doing or negligence might save face for the Pentagon in the short term, but long term the people are divided, frustrated and left feeling unrepresented. Decades of democracy wars and energy wars, terrorism and lowered socio economic status ensured one thing: that the people distrusted their own government. They believe what they watch on YouTube or TikTok, not the Pentagon – and who can blame them. The result is an insurrection on democracy.
Flash forward to the UAP initiative that has been occurring from 2017 to the present day. The Ufologists who have known there is an anomalous phenomena simply distrust what they see as the ‘Deep State’ intelligence community. By extension, they work with known debunkers in secret groups to formulate ways to attack and stigmatise ‘UAP Activism’ efforts due to any tentative association to the former AATIP director Luis Elizondo. Arguably, Mr. Elizondo has been the only person to have honest conversations with the American public, which in turn get disseminated across the globe through the medium of social media - whether by opponents to his message or supporter. Others have remained anonymous due to fear of career retribution. Pentagon campaigns spearheaded by some conservatives of UAP, have obfuscated information from the public and even go as far as to refuse to comply with Congress. They have taken active steps to classify information around the Go-Fast, GIMBAL and FLIR1 video clips, citing ridiculous (and easily avoidable) ‘sources and methods’ as explanations. In total, there are many, many interests who wish for this to simply all go away, to return to the world before AATIP, UAP and Elizondo. A desolate world in which conspiracy Ufology challenged the ‘Flat Earth’ community for the most ridiculed fringe topic within tabloids. But it wont go back. Too much has happened in four years, too many high ranking people know the reality of the phenomena and no amount of internet trolls will stop what will happen in the next few years. The truth doesn’t care what we think and can be difficult to accept. The truth is ugly, and not always what we want to hear, but ultimately it is a definitive construct not bound by the subjectivity of human perceptions. The truth must be known, whatever that may be. People need to act. People need to have the difficult conversation that could end up frightening them. It is very important that Western governments find a way to address this with their people and not hide from it, too much is at stake.
